Industrial automation acceptance / handover

You tested one system.
Are you signing off on the same one?

An independent second look at one automation acceptance or handover decision — before the final sign-off.

You send redacted records. The review shows what they support, what remains not established, and which questions to close before someone signs.

Who it is for

For the moment an acceptance decision needs a clear record.

An acceptance decision does not need to be disputed before its evidence is worth reviewing. The aim is a clearer sign-off.

01 / BEFORE SIGN-OFF

Final handover is approaching

FAT/SAT is complete and customer acceptance is close. You want an independent check that the record supports the decision before it is closed.

02 / AFTER CHANGES

The system changed after testing

PLC, HMI, drive, robot or configuration changes happened after testing. It is no longer obvious how the test evidence relates to the delivered state.

03 / UNCERTAIN CLOSEOUT

Closeout needs clarification

Acceptance evidence, project scope or handover responsibilities are not clearly stated in the records, and closeout is less certain than it should be.

The problem

FAT can pass — and the final state can still become harder to prove.

Controls projects change. PLC logic is adjusted onsite, HMI recipes move, drive parameters change and targeted retests happen. None of that means the system is wrong. The question is whether the final record still supports the exact state the customer is being asked to accept.

Fictional example

FAT passed on Rev 12.
Final backup is Rev 17.

Decision status

NOT ESTABLISHED

This does not mean the work failed. It means the supplied record does not yet clearly establish that the final delivered state is covered by the acceptance evidence.

What you receive

One bounded review. A written answer for one decision.

A short written review of the records you supply, covering:

  • The acceptance decisionThe specific decision being examined, stated precisely.
  • Acceptance basisThe acceptance criteria or baseline shown in the supplied records.
  • Tested state → changes → delivered stateHow the tested state, post-test changes and final delivered state relate to each other.
  • Supported vs. not establishedWhat the supplied evidence supports, and what it does not yet establish.
  • Acceptance / handover boundaryWhat the records say is being handed over and accepted, where relevant.
  • Prioritized questionsThe clarification questions or missing evidence to resolve first.

Scope is deliberately narrow. This is not a full engineering audit, a contract review or production validation.

Entry engagement

Acceptance Drift Review

One bounded acceptance or handover decision, reviewed from redacted materials. If a project needs a broader multi-vendor or multi-decision review, that is scoped separately and is not squeezed into the $499 engagement.

Sample report

See the work product before you get in touch.

A complete sample review based on a fictional project. It shows the structure, the evidence language and the stated limits of a real review.

  • How the decision and acceptance basis are stated
  • How evidence is classified as supported or not established
  • How prioritized clarification questions are presented

Fictional example for illustration only. No real project, client or site is represented.

How it works

Four steps, starting with a short email.

  1. Describe one decisionTell me which acceptance or handover decision is coming up and what changed, if anything.
  2. Confirm the fitI confirm whether it fits the $499 bounded scope, or tell you plainly if it does not.
  3. Agree the evidenceWe agree which redacted records are needed. Nothing needs to be sent before this step.
  4. Receive the reviewYou get the written review with prioritized clarification questions, typically within 24–48 hours.

Sending an inquiry does not place an order. Work starts only after scope, materials and terms are agreed.

Boundary

What this review is — and what it is not.

It is

  • An independent, bounded second look at one acceptance or handover decision.
  • Based only on the records you choose to supply.
  • Focused on evidence relationships, ambiguity and decision closure.
  • A read-only, document-based review that works with redacted materials.

It is not

  • Certification, regulatory approval, safety approval or a safety guarantee.
  • A substitute for engineering judgment, FAT, SAT, independent verification or field validation.
  • A replacement for the customer's acceptance authority.
  • Production authorization, a safety system or live-system access.
  • A legal opinion on contractual responsibility or ownership transfer.

Missing evidence in the supplied package is not treated as proof that an event did not occur. It is reported as not established.

FAQ

Common questions

What counts as one bounded acceptance decision?

A single decision about one system, line, cell or scope item, such as "accept the line at Rev 17" or "close SAT for this cell and hand over". If you are weighing several separate decisions, each one is normally its own review.

What if some evidence is missing?

That is common and does not stop the review. Gaps are reported as not established, not as proof that something did not happen. The review then lists which missing records matter most to the decision.

Do you need access to our PLC or production system?

No. The review is read-only and based on documents. It works from exported or redacted records such as test reports, change logs, revision lists and handover documents. No remote access, credentials or connection to any control system is needed.

Is this a certification or safety approval?

No. It is an independent evidence review. It does not certify, approve or guarantee safety or compliance, and it does not replace engineering judgment, FAT/SAT, independent verification or the customer's acceptance authority.

What if our project is too complex for the $499 scope?

You will be told that during scoping, before any work or payment. Options include narrowing the review to the one decision that matters most, or a separately scoped engagement. The $499 review is not stretched to cover a larger scope.

Start with a short description

Have one acceptance decision that should be clearer before someone signs?

Describe the decision and the evidence you already have. You do not need a perfect package, and please do not attach confidential documents to the first message.

An inquiry is not an order and has no cost. Fit, scope and terms are confirmed first. Typical turnaround is 24–48 hours after scope and materials are confirmed.
